National Palace of Culture
The Congress Centre in Sofia is the largest multifunctional complex in the southern part of Eastern Europe. It is designated and equipped both for congress and cultural events. Launched in 1981, it gradually acquired fame as the most prestigious site of numerous national and international activities. Meeting the requirements of the highest international standards the Congress Centre is the member of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) and the International Association of Congress Palaces (AIPS) which guarantees the highest service standards.
LOCATION
The National Palace of Culture is in the centre of Sofia and has a marvelous view at Vitosha Mountain. Many of the largest hotels, offices, historical and cultural places are at immediate proximity of it. Buses, trolley-buses and trams connect the Palace with every part of the city. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the airport.

The Congress Centre provides 16 halls with seating capacity of 8 600 seats where meetings with 100 - 4 000 participants could be held. The halls are equipped with the latest technical facilities which offer almost unlimited possibilities. Halls 1,2 and 11 provide only fixed seats but all the rest can be designed in different ways. The number of seats in the Main Hall could be transformed from 3 800 to 2 800 and 2 000. Halls 7, 8, 9 have mobile walls. Most halls have direct illumination which creates optimal conditions for work. The spacious foyers are exceptionally suitable for exhibitions, cocktails, banquets etc. The total exhibition area of halls and foyers comes to 15 000 sq.m where 3 000 sq.m are open exhibition areas; this, together with the air conditioning and the OCTANORM module system, makes possible the organization of some exhibitions simultaneously.
TECHNICAL FACILITIES
These include the latest achievements in the field: professional TV, audio and electroacoustic equipment; wired and infra-red simultaneous systems, video information systems, electronic voting system, closed-circuit TV system, all kinds of projection equipment, DOLBY stereo sound system in the main hall, Press-centre, modern printing equipment.
