The Krassen Fortress
The Krassen Fortress - situated 5 km southwards of Panagyurishte - is a military, administrative, economic and spiritual centre of the Panagyurishte region in late Antiquity and the Middle Ages (c. 4-14 AD)
A precious find was discovered in the fortress during archaeological research in 1987 - a medallion-stamp of the fortress' last ruler Rafail. The stamp is the only known object which belonged to a Bulgarian noble of that time.
