Devil's throat Cave

Devil's throat CaveOne of the phenomena in the Trigrad Gorge in the Rhodopes is the Devil's Throat abyss cave, formed as a result of the collapse of earth layers. The cave is 1,3 km to the North of the village of Trigrad. The temperature inside is 8oC.

Along an artificially dug tunnel (150m), one can reach an impressive cave hall that could accommodate the Alexander Nevski Cathedral in Sofia. A winding steep cement staircase leads from the hall to the natural entrance of the cave. While climbing, the visitor can see one of the highest underground waterfalls in Europe (42m).
