Taukliman
It is one of the largest nature reserves along the seacoast. In Turkish the name of this area means "Birds Bay". It lies 16 km north of the town of Kavarna. The coast here is cut by small exotic bays, covered by sand, pebbles and rocks. Few stair-like sand terraces lead to the jagged coast. On the lowest terrace lies the Lake of Taukliman. During the seasonal migrations, the lake welcomes hundreds of birds, stopping for a rest and food. Then the lake becomes a real bird's paradise. Nearby are located the remains of pagan sanctuaries, Middle Age settlement and Roman fortress used in the 5th century AD.
